12th CHINA
BALLROOM DANCING CHAMPIONSHIP 1999
Here
is last year's information about the 12th China Ballroom Dancing
Championship that many of our visitors are asking for. The 12th
China Ballroom Dancing Championship 1999 & the 2nd Lotus
Awards of National Ballroom Dancing (Showdance) Competition
was organised by China Ballroom Dancing Society on Nov. 28th
1999 in Guangzhou. This is one of the biggest championship in China
with over 400 couples participating from mainland China, Hong Kong
and Macua. It is also officially recognised by the China Cultural
Ministry, and it is the first time that there were some world
class adjudicators (Karl Breuer, Marcel De Rijk, Marcus
and Karen Hilton (M.B.E.) and Paul Bishop) being invited
for this national championship.
The Champions for the Professional events are as follows:

DANCE COMPETITION
IN GUANGZHOU
The
"6th Industrial and Commercial Cup DanceSport International Championship"
was held in Guangzhou on 3 July 1999. The competition was a big
event and was divided into professional, amateur A group, amateur
B group, novice, youth, junior and senior session. Performing guests
on the day included Marcus and Karen Hilton (M.B.E.).
Shenzhen
Dance Event
A
dancing competition for both amateur and professional dancers was
held at Shenzhen Dance Parlou on 19 June 1999.
DANCE EVENT
HELD IN SHENZHEN
An
international standard and latin competition, open to dancers from
Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Hong Kong and jointly organised by the dancing
organisations of Shenzhen and Hong Kong, will be held in Shenzhen
on 13th March 1999. There will also be a dance performance by professional
dancers from China and Hong Kong at the same event.
